My writing journey
It was a lazy Saturday in May, 2021 when I sat down at my computer and opened Google.
“How to publish my own book” were the words that I searched, and they became words that changed my life forever.
Saved on my computer was a story I had started writing in the winter of 2017, when I was just 20 years old. It was a sweet, holiday romance, set in a small town that didn’t exist, but somehow still felt like the place I had lived all of my life.
Hudson Springs, Colorado - a fictional town filled with fictional characters that felt more real to me than anything else I had ever written. Yes, this was it. This was the story I was going to put out into the world. If there was only ever one piece of my writing that I published, it had to be this story.
And so, Second Chances was born. It was published that fateful day in May, and its sequel came out about a month later. I had no idea people would even read my writing, let alone enjoy it.
My writing had always been for me. My escape, my comfort. Being able to share my writing with the world turned out to be the greatest gift, one I am forever grateful for.
